Dr. Bhaskar Bannerjee struggles along with his patients’ suffering and the darkness and poverty he confronts each day. He treats cancer patient Anand, who upon learning of his impending departure, determines to use enough full time he has left to the absolute fullest.

Anand (English: Bliss) is a 1971 Indian play film, co-written and led by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, together with dialogues compiled by Gulzar. It stars Rajesh Khanna from the lead role, with a supporting cast such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sumita Sanyal, Ramesh Deo, along with Seema Deo. The movie won several awards, like the Filmfare Award for Best Film at 1972. Back in 2013, it was listed in Anupama Chopra’s publication 100 Films To See Before You Die. This picture is counted on the list of 17 consecutive hit films of Rajesh Khanna between 1969 and 1971, by adding the two heroes movies Marayada & Andaz into the 1-5 straight solo hits he gave in 1969 to 1971. This was also Amitabh Bachchan’s first struck.


The movie begins with a felicitation ceremony ordered for Bhaskar (Amitabh Bachchan), a doctor that has just written a successful publication titled Anand. Bhaskar was a cancer specialist, and following the speeches, he also reveals that the book is not only a work of fiction however obtained out of his or her journal as it pertains to his experiences having an actual person named Anand.

Flashback starts with Bhaskar, fresh out of his training as an oncologist, attempting to treat the poor for totally free however frequently disheartened by the very fact they can’t cure most of the ailments on the planet. One of those producers, N.C. Sippy had formerly served as Mehmood’s production director. The personality Babu Moshai was played with Mehmood. But when he moved into Kishore Kumar’s residence, he was pushed by the gatekeeper because of misunderstanding. Kishore Kumar (himself a Bengali) had achieved a stage show coordinated by another Bengali person and was included with a dispute for this particular man within financial matters. He had instructed his gatekeeper to push this “Bengal. If he visited your house. The gatekeeper mistook Mukherjee to be this “Bengali and refused entrance. The episode hurt Mukherjee, and he chose never to work well with Kumar. Consequently, Mehmood had to leave the movie as well. The two Raj Kapoor along with Shashi Kapoor has been offered that the lead before Rajesh Khanna.

Film expert and musicologist Rajesh Subramanian says that Mukherjee shot the movie at 28 days.

The smoothness of Anand was inspired by Raj Kapoor, that used to telephone Mukherjee “Babu Moshay. It is thought that Mukherjee composed that the film once Kapoor was seriously ill and Mukherjee figured he could perish. The movie was focused on Kapoor along with also the people of Bombay.
